The last 3 days have been rough at bedtime.

Being in a wheelchair from sun up to sun down does a number on your body.

I have been very active in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning, since my kids and the kids I babysit (5 kids total) are on school vacation for 3 weeks (mind you, it just started).

Well, what I didn’t realize is that while I’m doing stuff around the kitchen and using the counters or sink while sitting in my wheelchair, that I am having to keep my arms lifted up to shoulder level to perform the tasks. For example, cutting up food or wiping counters and even making a sandwich requires holding up my arms.  The only time I will stand for a long period of time is when I’m doing the dishes.

The result is that my shoulders and neck ache so bad that I can’t sleep at night. I am a stomach and side sleeper. So, when I get in position ready to doze off, my neck and shoulders are saying, “Hell, no!”

I still have over 2 weeks of the kids being home, which normally is fine because I love kids.

But I need some sleep.

I even tried melatonin and nope I was awake tossing and turning.

Ugh, I just want a comfortable issuable prosthetic so I can get up and out of this chair.

If only insurance wouldn’t look for every reason to keep me in this chair and not expedite my prosthetic.

My body hurts and my body needs sleep.
