Getting tested for poor circulation is critical if you have high risk factors such as:
- diabetes,
- high blood pressure,
- high cholesterol,
- autoimmune conditions,
- former/Current smoker,
- hypercoaguable,
- and/or are over age 50.
Peripheral Artery Disease, which is mainly poor circulation in the legs, can be managed conservatively with lifestyle modifications, especially walking as medicine, and dietary changes, if caught early!
Thankfully, Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies Of Johnson & Johnson Save Legs, Change Lives program, is democratizing access to testing with its Empowered Van that travels the U.S. to provide free testing for patients in the most vulnerable communities.
While representing the Global PAD Association as a Patient Advisor at a healthcare fair in Atlanta, Georgia, I checked out the Save Legs Change Lives Empowered fan and got a free Ankle Brachial-Index (ABI) Test, where they place blood pressure cuffs on your arms and legs to measure the differential and determine if you have poor circulation in your legs.
